So last Friday whilst I'm away Sarah told Sara that for some reason there was an opening for an exhibition at Bloc starting Monday. As in last Monday, and was Sara up for it. She was. So she painted some more paintings. When I say more I mean a few more to swell the ranks of her recent works. She finally painted something in her little art studio / hallway after months of my prodding. Which was good. She might even take up Kick Boxing. (although at this rate even Heq might beat her to the errr, punch, kick?)
Anyway. Monday rolled around and she and Ben nailed nails, hung paintings, made up names and more importantly prices. She also made up the "wank"(tm) associated with art works. "My work tries to make you all gushy by reminding you of the love, seagulls and nature etc etc", bollox. We all knew it was a crock back in third form art, and it turns out we were right.
But none of this is as important as the opening night itself. For she rocked so hard that she sold six of her nine paintings right then and there. Score artist triumph. Boot. Special mention to Ed the Head, my Oamaru Stone-Easter Island Head Thing what Sara made for my birthday. He rules, and he is not for sale.
Yes. Rocktastic. She Rocks, thank you come again. Goodnight.
