Oh the irony, (and this is actually ironic as opposed to stupid)...
Last night the Government failed to pay me (and $4.8 million worth of other students). Now while some people might think I should shut up and be grateful for what I do get, I instead say "sod off." And I actually say it more for people that have bills to pay, and people to see, or rent to pay more likely. People that have rent going out today should be mightily pissed off.
There are two things that piss me off about this article (the story not the article itself): Firstly,
"A processing mistake over the long weekend means students expecting an allowance or loan payment today may not be paid until midnight tonight," ministry chief executive Peter Hughes said in a statement.
FUCK. I am sick and tired of this kind of crap. I am willing to bet that the so called "processing error" was just some moron that either forgot about the public holiday and forgot that they wouldn't be at work on Monday to hit
If some git decided that the machines would need to take the day off in line with the public holiday that people took off, well that is even worse. Hello! Computers, not people, don't take holidays and DON'T sit on their asses all Queen's Birthday Holiday deciding to pay people or not. Nope. Not at all.
I imagine it was more likely the first, as we faced this often at work when people forgot to program things like electric doors not to automatically open at 8am on a public holiday. It shouldn't be that hard should it? There is less than 20 of these a year, it is not hard.
The irony I spoke of earlier is derived from the fact that Westpacsuck have come through for students.
Westpac had agreed their customers could access their payments today...
WTF? This can't be happening. WP(-T) are the kings of "computers take the weekend off, they take holidays off, they take morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, off, in fact they probably take their clothes off" And yet somehow, somehow WP(-T) has come to the party today with "customers could access their payments today" This makes no sense, and is clearly out of character.
I suspect that this is in response to my decision to leave them to wither and die a few weeks ago.
By the way, the insane 100 gig party should have available over: 38 days, 20 hours, 4 minutes, 3 seconds of music. Which is 55924 minutes and approximately 1242 full albums (at an estimated 45 minutes per album) (assuming they are encoded at 256) Thanks to Waxy.org's MP3 Calculator.
Also Heq has canned his blog.
Again.
Well, I present the following, for those that care (not in order). One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Now there is nothing wrong with changing your site layout, in fact it is all good. This is just my comment on his on again off again off again relationship with his blog. Robot freedom now. That is all.
